Hop on a wave of aloha and rep the most legendary shave ice hut in all Hawaiʻi! This tee is more than comfy cotton, it’s a mini time capsule from Haleʻiwa’s original ice castle.

Born on February 13, 1951 in the laid-back town of Haleʻiwa, Matsumoto’s Shave Ice began as a small family-run grocery store opened by Mamoru and Helen Matsumoto. Mamoru delivered groceries by bike to nearby camps, while Helen rang up customers and stitched clothing on the side. In 1956 they added a Japanese-style shave ice machine, and just like that, a local legend was born. Cones sold for just five and ten cents, and as surf culture exploded in the 1960s, so did the lines outside their shop. Today their son Stanley runs the business alongside his wife Noriko and daughter Remy, still making their own syrups and serving thousands of colorful icy creations each day. This shirt celebrates the original kings of cool in North Shore style, featuring vintage-inspired graphics and soft breathable cotton. Wear it with pride and if you're ever on Oʻahu do yourself a favor and stand in that line. It's worth every chilly rainbow-soaked second.

This vintage-style tee features a graphic from Matsumoto’s Shave Ice printed on a rare Swan Brand blank—a lesser-known Chinese T-shirt manufacturer dating back to the 1960s, potentially even predating Merz b. Schwanen. According to Pearl River Market, Swan Brand was a staple in Shanghai and known for durable, classic cotton tees. This suggests the shirt might have originally been sold as a souvenir before Matsumoto’s fully expanded into souvenir merch during the surfing boom of the mid to late 1960s. A true collector’s piece blending North Shore aloha with vintage textile history.
